Read Psalm 46. My focus has been verse one. God is our refuge and strength. In the time of trouble refuge is a saving grace if we don't stay in the place of refuge forever. Periods of withdrawal can be a benefit to the spiritual life if we don't stay there forever. We are called to witness to the world. God bless you today. Shalom.
