Our Faith

God -  We believe that God is the creator of all people, the world, the universe, and everything seen and unseen.

Jesus - We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He is one with God, and that He was sent here for our salvation.

Holy Spirit - He is called the "Promise of the Father", given by Christ as a gift to the Church, to empower the Church for service to God, to place God's love in our hearts.  We are to grow in our experience of the Holy Spirit for the rest of our lives.

Bible - We believe that the bible is the inspired word of God. It is useful for practical and spiritual instruction for one's life.

Our Beliefs

Church - The word "church" comes from the Greek "ekklesia" which means "gathering" or "assembly."  Therefore, the church is the gathering of the believers who come together to participate in fellowship with one another as they worship God.

Sanctification -  The process of being set apart for God's work and being conformed to the image of Christ.  This conforming to Christ involves the work of the person.  But it is still God working in the believer to produce more of a godly character and life in the person who has already been justified.

Justification - We are justified by faith, which is the work of God.  Righteousness of Jesus is reckoned to the sinner so the sinner is declared by God as being righteous through faith in Jesus Christ. This righteousness is not earned or retained by any effort of the saved.  It is based completely and solely upon Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and is received by faith alone.

Reconciliation- Change of relationship between God and man.  We were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, Jesus. Through Jesus' sacrifice the believers relationship with God is changed for the better. We are now able to fellowship with God.

Sacraments of The Church

Baptism - Jesus commissioned the church to witness, empower and baptize those who believe.  Christian baptism is eschatology put into practice and Christian hope in action.

Communion – Is a sacrament of the church. Shalom Church has an open invitation to all believers.

Christian Stewardship – Stewardship starts with God; God is creator, owner and giver. The ultimate example of stewardship is Jesus. Christian stewardship is the investment in the gift of life, which God has given.
