YIT's "Song of the Month"

July YIT Presentation

Song Title: “Ask, Seek & Knock”

Ask, Seek & Knock (Clap 3 times)

Ask, Seek & Knock (Clap 3 times)

For with these keys, I do believe

The treasures of heaven unlock

Just Ask, Seek & Knock (Clap 3 times)

Ask, Seek & Knock (Clap 3 times)

Please understand by faith WE CAN!

If we ask, seek and knock

Ask and it will be given to you

Seek and you will find

Knock and the door will be opened to you,

For everyone who asks receives

Yes everyone who asks receives

Ask, Seek & Knock (Clap 3 times)

Ask, Seek & Knock (Clap 3 times)

For with these keys, I do believe

The treasures of heaven unlock

Just Ask, Seek & Knock (Clap 3 times)

Ask, Seek & Knock (Clap 3 times)

Please understand by faith WE CAN!

If we ask, seek and knock

Ask, Seek & knock…Ask, Seek & Knock!

THEME: “Developing a Life of Prayer”

In July, we will further ground our children in the faith by helping them to begin and develop a life of prayer. We will address the following questions:

  • What did Jesus teach his disciples about prayer?

  • What are the benefits of prayer?

Lesson Texts for the Month:

  • July 3rd – Mark 1:35 – 39 – “Jesus Prays in a Solitary Place”
  • July 10thMatthew 6:5 – 15  - “Jesus on Prayer”
  • July 17th –  Luke 18:1 – 8 – “The Parable of the Persistent Widow”
  • July 24thMark 14:32 – 42 – “Jesus Prays in the Garden of Gethsemane”
  • July 31stMatthew 7:7 – 8 – “Encouragement from Jesus to Keep On Praying…”

Memory Verses:

Matthew 7:7 – 8 (New International Version)

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

This is the Word of God. I do believe that it’s true. The grass withers. The flowers fade away. But the Word of our God shall stand forever.

Books of the Bible for the Month: One of our goals in YIT this year is to teach the books of the Bible.

All youth should review and learn the following books of the Bible for the month of July:

The Gospels:

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John

Dear Parent/Guardian,

During the month of July, we will further ground our children in the faith by helping them to begin and develop a life of prayer.

Our song for the month helps to encourage a life of prayer. That being said, YOUR HELP IS NEEDED to prepare our children for our next Youth In Training presentations on Sunday, July 17th at our Lindbergh Campus during our 9:45am service and Sunday, August 7th at our Berkeley Campus. We can only give God our best with your help.

To hear and rehearse the song at home, you can visit our website at www.shalomccop.org. Click on “Ministries” and then click on “Youth Development”. Finally, scroll down and you will see the link. Thanks for your support!

Many people ask, "what is the value of involving my child in ministry?" This is a very common question that often goes unanswered. Ministry provides children with structure and discipline that support healthy development. Ministry will give your child a Christian foundation that will aid them in decision making during the tough times ahead.

I remember my mother and grandmother's strict instructions when it came to my involvement in ministry. At times I didn't understand why they were so insistent on the subject matter, but as I grew I began to see the benefit of their concern.

I can honestly say that my involvement in ministry has helped shape me into the man that I am today.

Get your child involved today... It's a matter of life!
